We seek an experienced, talented and energetic Engineering System Architect to lead our technological engagement with the top tier Hyperscale customers in support of the HPE Hyperscale Engineering Team. The position entails working closely with customers to determine needs and requirements in their Compute, Storage, Infrastructure and Software tiers, and then finding the solutions to meet those needs. The position includes responsibility for developing new ideas for products and features, working with customers to analyze and resolve issues, generating technical specifications, working with internal and external teams, and driving improvements to the development process

Performs architecture development and assessment. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly engage with customer discussions on high-level architectural concepts to intricate design details.
  • Respond quickly to customer support requests and reproduce issues in the lab if necessary.
  • Interface with development teams to provide roadmap input and feedback on customer product experience and usage.
  • Participate in the Product Definition, Architecture, Design and Development of server and storage products for a timely delivery and aligning with the requirements of the Hyperscale customers
  • Develops organization-wide architectures and methodologies for datacenter rack and system design across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit.
  • Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations; aligns technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and update into architecture.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; integrates suggestions, updates, and innovations into overall architecture.
  • Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members to set an example of electrical hardware design and development innovation and excellence.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10+ years experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Using electrical design tools and software packages.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions.
  • Significant customer project work with running multiple projects in parallel. Lead thought in new business opportunities with emerging technologies. An expert in multiple technical and business domains.
  • Advanced leadership skills, including coaching, teambuilding, conflict resolution, and management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English for responding to RFP's and customer presentations and correspondence
  • Superior business acumen, technical knowledge of multiple business units, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies
  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.
  • Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting
  • Familiar with both Windows and Linux operating environments.
  • Experience in overall architecture of software systems for products and solutions
  • Should be able to solve large complex enterprise scale IT problems and lead a technical team. Must be able to work effectively in multiple technical disciplines.
  • Experience in operational and deployment problems of IT at scale. Must be able to identify, communicate and mitigate risks for IT architectures at scale
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.
