Enterprise Services (“ES”) business has just became an independent company from HPE in Japan.

And, after 1 April 2017, new company and CSC that is creating a global IT services powerhouse will merge as new IT service company.

Manages the legal responsibilities and legal staff for Japan, sub-region, or region.

Directs the day to day activities of the team in alignment with the strategic direction of Enterprise Service senior legal manager or the Deputy General Counsel (DGC).

Manages legal responsibilities for multiple client organizations with divergent priorities and needs.

Leads complex, multidimensional projects or transactions.

Aligns necessary resources to high risk areas based on the understanding of the strategies and goals of the company and the Legal Department.

Acts as a master of the local/regional environment by advising on complex laws and regulations and their implications for the local/regional operations/businesses.

Drives implementation of innovative process improvements to effectively address business needs.

Education and Experience Required

Advanced university degree in law (e.g. JD or LLB).

Typically 10 years commercial legal experience at a law firm or in-house.

Experience mentoring and developing attorneys.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Excellent leadership and people management skills, including performance management, problem solving, and evaluation.

Mastery of legal and relevant business knowledge in multiple practices areas in a country/region.

Broad and deep knowledge of local/regional laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Developed awareness of how to operate successfully in multiple international legal environments.

Mastery in negotiating or advising senior representatives of external and internal organizations on complex and high value/risk matters.

Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.

English language skills to business standard required.
