Project Manager – Analytics & Data Management

The Project Manager is responsible in managing and executing Singapore government projects that involves Analytics and Data Management.

Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Responsible for the leadership, coordination, and management to successful conclusion of Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics projects
  • Estimate and plan DW/BI projects, creating a detailed workplan, based on a variety of inputs (details from technical assessment, scope/assumptions in statement of work, consultation from technical team, etc.)
  • Validation of estimates for unit of work and tracking status against the project workplan
  • Development and maintenance of a full life-cycle staffing plan and screening prospective candidates to establish the right mix of capabilities for successful project execution
  • Proactive identification, communication, and management of project risks and issues
  • Management of project scope and management of the SOW change control process as appropriate
  • Coordination and enablement of all project sub-teams (analysts, developers, etc.) to ensure they can effectively accomplish their goals
  • Review and procurement of sign-off for all project deliverables
  • Frequent communication of project status including progress against schedule, budget, resource plan
  • Facilitation of both internal and client meetings
  • Transparent communication of project risks both internally and with the client

Education and Experience

  • Must be Singaporean as this role is assigned to government projects
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or technology/engineering related field
  • Minimum 8 years of proven project management experience of which 5 years in data warehousing, business intelligence projects and data analytics projects

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven project management skills in the area of data warehousing, business intelligence and data analytics – leading project teams while managing client relationships
  • Strong analytic and estimation skills pertinent to data warehousing and business intelligence projects
  • Experience building and maintaining the following deliverables: Delivery Plan , Risk Log, Status Reports, Project Budget
  • 4 – 6 years of practical, hands-on experience in the following areas of DW/BI: DW/BI Solution Architecture, Data Modelling, ETL Development/Architecture, Reporting & Dashboards, DW/BI Quality Assurance, Master Data Management
  • Experience leading teams composed of full time firm consultants, sub-contractors
  • Experience using MS Project or similar plan management tools
  • Experience proactively identifying risk and defining/executing comprehensive mitigation strategies
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills – to senior client stakeholders
  • Experience in both Waterfall and Agile project methodologies, plus ability to determine/recommend when each is appropriate
  • Proven experience in project rescue (and able to provide tangible examples)
  • Proven experience in successfully procuring client references and follow-on work at the conclusion of a successful project
