Job Description:

The HPE Datacenter Infrastructure Group is investing in emerging server markets to deliver compute with "open" design principles. Customers are increasingly looking for the ability to de-couple the hardware from the software offering and use their infrastructure to enable their web-based applications to deliver services to their end customers. The Open Server marketplace requires innovative business models to respond to customer demand for serviceability, turnaround time and availability of new technology. The Cloudline Server portfolio is building a model to address this market and is looking for new leadership to help charter this course for the future of infrastructure delivery.

The Open Systems Server Division of our DCIG group is being formed to respond to increasing customer demand for servers with open design principles and enhanced business operating model that enables delivery of systems personalized to customer need with technology that is available at time-to-market. The Pricing Manager will enable this new business model, deliver to profitability strategy of the new model and enable private offerings for customers and public delivery of the new products to market. This is a team leader/ manager position. #CBHPE


The Pricing Manager will be tasked with managing the pricing strategy to include profitability analysis, competitive pricing, deal reviews and tactical analysis for the platforms. The role will also be responsible for forecasting assistance and analysis of the product line performance, budget spend to plan and team growth plans.

Manages the product/services/solution (PSS) life cycle. From an understanding of customer needs/insights, provides initial product/service/solution design, pricing, value proposition, messaging and/or whole product strategies (packaging, warranty, service, support), as well as forecasting through product introduction. Regional product marketing includes actual forecasting, inventory strategy and forecasting, actual pricing and price promotions/discounting, technical support and ultimately the obsolescence and end-of-life of the PSS. Both regional and global roles regularly work with the sales force, customers, and partners to accelerate sales process. Applies market and customer insights on customer experience requirements and brand loyalty to define the PSS experience requirements across all PSS components of the customer life cycle. Represents the voice of the customer with respect to PSS development/pricing, launch, refresh and obsolescence.

  • Lead projects that involve cross-functional coordination to provide integrated products/services/solutions.
  • Improve processes affecting their workgroup and those interfaced with; e.g., forecast system, obsolesces process with retailers.
  • Represent the company to customers or partners.

Education and Experience Required:

  • College degree in Marketing/Business/Technical.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 7 years in product marketing fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated management skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in product design or current product management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with selling partners, R&D or customers.
  • Proven experience leading, driving and measuring virtual teams towards a common goal.

Specific Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Set pricing strategy for Cloudline products and options, including competitive plan
  • Conduct New Product Management Pricing for Cloudline and maintain analytics for market response
  • Lead quote strategy and stand up a best in class quote turnaround SLA of 48 hours
  • Conduct all deal reviews to accelerate an efficient operations process for customers
  • Coordinate with procurement on customer personalization of commodities to win deals
  • Track and report Cloudline pipeline and coordinate closely with demand supply team
  • Lead all forecasting of Cloudline products and budget management
  • Analytics of the product line by region, success by platform
  • Manage Cloudline spend and opex allocation
