The Network Engineer will beresponsible for network operations tasks and administration. They willparticipate in the ongoing support for network systems using current andemerging technologies. Maintains overall network health and carries out networktasks based on business objectives. Responsible for security, documentation,and administration of network equipment. Works well with others in a teamenvironment.
The Network Engineer is responsiblefor the assessment and analysis of data, video and voice network services whichrequires an understanding of technologies used in services organizations. Mustunderstand OSi model Layers 1-3 and be able to identify issues with tools suchas Wireshark, knowledgeable of firewalls, Cisco ASA, Checkpoint and Juniper.This individual will coordinate the installation with vendors to assure asmooth transition on worked projects. The position is also responsible formonthly monitoring of switches, routers and firewalls for errors andutilization and provide reports on findings; and ensures the network isup-to-date for PCI compliance and providing end user training and documentationwhere required. The Network Engineer should be knowledgeable in routing andswitching.
2 years of experience with degreeor 3 years of experience in lieu of degree in broad network including some ifnot all the following: LAN/CLAN/MAN/WAN experience, with experience indesigning/implementing network infrastructure solutions in Windows and Linux/Unixenvironments; and networking with blade solutions and architectures, i.e. CiscoUCS.
The candidate should have held atleast one or more certificates- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CiscoCertified Design Associate (CCDA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP),wireless, voice, and security certifications in multiple technology areaspreferred.
Working knowledge of Firewalls,TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLANS’s, and SSL VPNs, Cisco wireless, A/Vequipment including Polycom, Cisco, Avaya.
Documentation and design workwith Visio or other tools in a medium/large enterprise experience with multiplelocations
Knowledge of network equipment, Juniperand checkpoint Firewalls, HP H3C and Cisco series switches and Routers
Ability to multi-task and manage multiplepriorities while working independently
Interpersonal and relationshipskills necessary to work with an integrated team of project managers,developers, quality and other company engineers
Ability to converse verbally and inwriting with good presentation, communication, organization and time managementskills and an understanding of how change management affects others
Maintain established performancelevels to achieve individual and group goals
Provide direction to lower levelstaff to develop necessary skills to succeed and advance
Ability to adjust schedule to meetbusiness needs
Fluent in English, oral and written
