As part of the Global Financial Solutions (GFS) - Systems Architecture team, this critical role will engage in Managing a Team of Senior Finance Professionals and Managers Lead Projects, Business Consulting and support in areas impacting finance including SCOM, GL, Tax, inventory and cost accounting, intercompany, logistics, freight expense, procurement, inventory transactions - returns, goods receipt, goods issue, customer invoicing, revenue recognition, accounts payable for inventory purchases, accounts receivable, Intercompany, Procurement, Inventory accounting, Finance master data, etc.

As a Senior Manager, drives the implementation of best in class financial systems providing relevant, timely, and accurate financial information for financial planning, decision-making, control and risk management, and internal and external performance measurement. Works with Finance and Information Technology to design, construct, and implement financial and business processes and systems requirements globally such as a new reporting system. Develops design requirements for implementing new systems. Determines type of functionality needed in a new system (e.g., designating the business required documents in implementing a new reimbursement policy). Implements processes and tools that support efficiency initiatives.

This dynamic individual will have the opportunity to engage on a variety of roles including-

  • Projects – Leading solutions design and implement pan-HP standard capabilities, testing, communicating management of change (MOC). Types of projects will vary but may include Business Innovation, Process transformation, System landscape optimization, Compliance, and Critical Production Support fixes and enhancements.
  • Business Consulting & Support- Support business innovations by providing Finance consulting and ensuring business continuity in the production environment
  • Leading professionals working with Global project teams in delivering and deploying pan-HPE standardized finance processes and solutions and resolving day-to-day or month end close Finance pain points.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing a Team of Finance Professionals

  • Is able to influence other groups and functional areas in defining policy, procedures, or systems on a global level
  • Translates strategic plans into operational plans and guides their execution. Impact is on medium term goals
  • Ensure that the proper tools and business continuity plans are in place to support the team and the processes
  • Consults with business leaders at Senior Manager, Director levels to drive and influence strategic decision-making within a global scope
  • Oversee and approve Finance business resource engagement in IT project activities, User support, User Access Management, and Data retention.
  • Provides direction for and ensures timely, complete and accurate Project Sizing & Staffing, and facilitating resolution of skill and resource gaps
  • Partners with Business, Finance, & IT to drive process & system improvements
  • Active engagement in project Sponsors & Steering
  • Ensure delivery of qualitative solutions and timely project completion
  • Hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, succession planning and career development
  • Training, Coaching & Mentoring of team members
  • Ensure complete and accurate Time Tracking for self and team.
  • Cultivate a superior team of professionals and increase the overall competency of SME team within our function
  • Create and deliver training & process improvements that meet business requirements and eliminate · inefficiencies on behalf of the Finance function
  • Manage the quality of deliverables of direct staff and contractor resources across multiple projects / tasks
  • Ensure all corporate and organizational IT and Business policies are adhered to
  • Set-up and lead proper checkpoints and management reviews
  • Induct and coach new members of the team as necessary

Finance Projects - Leadership

  • Provide Leadership to SMEs assigned to POA/RCRB projects, Ensure financial process architecture compliance and integrity (AFM, SOX, GAAP, SBC, etc.)
  • Ensure delivery of qualitative solutions and timely project completion
  • Drive E2E Finance capabilities deliverables in POA projects in SCOM -Partner with Business, Finance & IT to Drive process & system improvements
  • Ensure Change is managed for Finance Users
  • Lead on all aspects of the project lifecycle (Requirements, Design, Testing, MOC, and Support)
  • Drive the effective timely delivery of the project deadline and outputs - Contribute, plan and be responsible for all aspects impacting finance
  • Maintain regular and strong communication with stakeholders
  • Ensure quality and high standards are maintained at all times
  • Understands customers' needs, applications, and trends and make sure all are documented as part of the project.
  • Lead and ensure compliance with US GAAP, AFM (HPE's Accounting Finance Manual), Local Statutory Requirements and all corporate and organizational business and finance policies
  • Lead process improvements that meet business requirements and eliminate inefficiencies
  • Lead special projects and initiatives for the Finance Organization involving cross functional teams and organizations

Projects - Project Steering

  • Active engagement in project steering committee and act as the Lead finance representative.
  • Steering reviews and drive senior management for decisions.
  • Adapts style and uses persuasion in delivering messages. Issues may be complex or audience perspectives may be divergent or information may be non-routine in nature. Influences the direction of the project. Operates on a global basis managing issues in significantly different cultures and requires awareness, respect and strong ability to reconcile cultural differences on a global basis
  • Accountable for signing off project milestones considering respective domain and other functions that affect domain
  • Address finance and project specific issues and align finance management on strategy and deliverables.

Projects - Drive Finance Capabilities

  • Drive E2E Finance capabilities deliverables in POA projects in -Partner with Business, Finance & IT to drive process & system improvements –Provide consulting on Systems and process issue resolution, architecture Design, Trading Structure and Finance flows
  • Drives the implementation of Finance Capabilities and Standards duly balancing between project objectives and Organizational strategy

WW Finance Systems and Process - E2E & Domain Consultation

  • Consulting on Systems and Process Architecture Design, Trading Structures and issue resolution for finance Users
  • Provide e2e finance coverage – engaging experts from other Orgs where required
  • Finance Systems and Process - Production User Deep Support, MEC Support & Operational Support
  • Ensure Change is managed for Finance Users - documented as per CIA and CFA templates, training delivered and timely communications driven
  • Provide necessary guidance, training, documentation to ensure 100% E2E stakeholder support is achieved.

Education and Experience

  • 8+ years of overall varied experience. Experience in multiple finance functions preferred along with advanced accounting knowledge
  • 4+ years Advanced Knowledge & Experience including end to end lifecycle experience in multiple Projects
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance related field is a must. Strong preference for Chartered Accountants / CPAs, MBAs.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of HP Financial Systems and Processes is preferred.
  • Flexibility to engage across regional time zones
  • Prior people management experience preferred
  • Virtual/Global project team experience related to financial systems design
  • Initiative and independence, ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Able to interface comfortably, communicate clearly and concisely, and motivate individuals or groups within all levels of the organization
  • Previous experience in SAP ERP application migrations and/or deployments
  • Ability to work flexibly and on own initiative without a lot of direction in times of ambiguity
