Mergers and Acquisitions Senior Financial Analyst

In the Finance division, our reporting and controlling teams are working on tasks like asset management, financial integration of mergers and acquisitions, as well as USGAAP-reporting. Our objective is to display all business activities in a financially correct and transparent manner.

Lead and partner in the deal evaluation, working with external consultants and the overall integration team to identify key areas of risk and integration opportunities and approach

Providing accounting guidance to and liaising with Corporate Development (CD), business finance, tax, and legal groups during the deal negotiation phase;

Lead the financial due diligence for acquisitions including a detailed analysis of the quality of earnings

Overseeing engagement of outside accounting firm to perform due diligence on acquisitions, review resulting reports, and provide guidance to the deal team

Leading business finance and regional controllership with regards to purchase accounting and provide financials and gain/loss calculations

Providing strategic oversight and guidance to tax, regional, and country controllership on accounting entries related to the implementation of tax and legal acquisition plans

Driving the valuation of intangibles related to acquisitions and asset purchases by working with third-party valuation firms

Managing 10-K and 10-Q reports, as well as other external disclosures related to M&A processes

Reviewing M&A transactions with external auditors

Driving technical accounting research and guidance on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and complex investments (areas include purchase accounting, consolidation, contingent consideration, asset impairment, stock compensation, and restructuring)

Preparing and conducting presentations for senior management on HPE M&A activity and technical accounting topics;

Support integration strategy related to M&A activity as part of the Finance work stream

Education and Experience Required:

  • First level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Master of Business Administration (MBA) strongly preferred.
  • Typically 6 years of experience as a financial analyst.
  • Typically experienced in a variety of finance functions.
