Manager, CPQ Capabilities in EMEA/ APJ

Job Description:

Responsible for managing a group of employees performing jobs in two or more of the Sales Operations Job Families. Responsible for setting the direction and accountable for the deliverables of the assigned teams while achieving expense objectives. Where appropriate, seeks to build strategic executive relationships externally with clients and internally within company, and partners with internal and external resources to develop best-in-class solutions for customers and partners. Manages the performance of individual contributors and the team overall, and grows and develops talent within the organization. These responsibilities are frequently at a country, region/sub-region or global level.


  • Manages a group of individual contributors, supervisors, and Manager Is across multiple job families within the sales operations function that typically support tactical or operational activities (see examples under MG1).
  • Controls a contained budget, with responsibilities for items such as salary increases, bonus payments within certain guidelines, and travel.
  • Responsible for hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.
  • Advises on the development of overall sales operations policies and procedures in consultation with senior management.

Education and Experience Required:

  • First-level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
  • Typically 10+ years of experience in a business related function, preferably sales, finance, or accounting.
  • Typically 2-4 years of people management experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, includes verbal, written and presentation forms; strong influence skills. Mastery in English and local language as well as other languages as required.
  • Solid finance skills and ability to budget.
  • Ability to set, measure, and manage team performance.
  • Exceptional financial and business acumen; in-depth business and industry knowledge.
  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, including goal-setting, conflict resolution, performance management, budget planning, problem solving, valuation and employee engagement.
