Designs, builds, and manages enterprise Helion OpenStack (HOS) Cloud environments. Work will involve creating capacity collection and monitoring capabilities, upgrade projects, customer consultations, operations, and design enhancements. These resources will work closely with the architect and engineering teams to ensure successful service improvements and operations, with opportunities for further advancements. Solutions may involve implementation of other HPE or 3rd party technologies to meet requirements, or performance of coding and automation scripting. Participates as a member of development team or teams; may lead a small development team and assign work to others. Provides time / resource estimates for assigned tasks. May provide time / resource estimates for assigned projects. Manages relationships with internal and external customers, vendors and other support teams. Interfaces with management and business interests on project work and in escalation situations. Participates in full technology release cycles of supported platforms, including scoping, development, testing, review, support planning (training, documentation), release, run and end of life of hardware and software products.

Education and Experience Required:

Education and Experience Required:

Typically a technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 6 years related experience or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong competency in and understanding of Linux Unix System Administration (RHEL, SLES, CentOS, etc.)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team and in conjunction with other teams.
  • Coding and automation scripting using shell, perl and/or python.
  • Knowledge of security for Unix platforms, including system and network/firewall vulnerability, system hardening, and current understanding of vulnerability tracking and remediation.

Additional Knowledge and Skills Desired:

  • Cloud concepts and open source solutions
  • Expertise in enterprise IT Services
