Data Center Consolidation /Migration projects can be part of a program with several services sold (e.g.,Cross Functional and Network) or a migration only project. The “Source” data center is where theequipment will be moved from. The“Target” data center is where the equipment will be moved to
Target data center will be requiredbefore the migration can begin. The amount of preparation will depend upon thesolution sold, but at a minimum, it will require Infrastructure build out(e.g., BUR, Citrix, HPOM, Active Directory) and the Client Compartment buildout (e.g., Application and database servers).
Works with managed service vendors,HP Operations, HP engineering, and implementation resources.
The Infrastructure Build Out (IBO)involves establishing a new data center environment in an HP data center for anewly signed client. Most of the timethe client is new to HP and the solution calls for an infrastructure to supportthe transition and transformation of the client. Existing clients may also require newinfrastructure to be built and/or added to their current environment
Daily/weekly project calls withvendors, HP team and client.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or relatedfield or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Project Management
Fluent in spoken and written English
Vast experience with Customers
Extensive professional experience in Managing big projects in IT; forexample, DataCenter, Security, Voice, Infraestructure (Wintel, Linux, Storageand Backup in small datacenters).
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of key company Services’ operational policies, processes and methodologies applicable to project management. Speaks with expertise to many layers of depth related to project management methods Participates in the company Program Manager (PM) Professions community On the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification path
