This position’s primary role is to serve as the Hewlett Packard Enterprise High Performance Computing Oil & Gas Vertical Solutions Product Manager and Vertical Strategist. Key deliverables are: market intelligence for HPC consumption by the Oil&Gas energy particularly comparing/contrasting on-prem to cloud; the development of solution elements to enhance the HPC product portfolio and thus increase HPE’s win rate; a roadmap of technology insertion to broaden and maintain HPE’s technical leadership in the Oil&Gas HPC vertical. This is an important role for growing HPE’s multi-$B position in the HPC market segment.
The High Performance Computing (HPC) Global Business Unit (GBU) within the Enterprise Group is chartered to broaden and sustain the market leadership in HPC that HPE has accomplished over the last many years. In transforming from a product orientation to a solutions orientation, the key goal of maintaining market leadership is joined by the goal to grow revenue and margin faster than the HPC segment average. The HPC GBU is executing several key strategies to accomplish these goals, including the sustained development of HPC-specific technical computing ingredients and platforms, but also the horizontal solutions (e.g., software stack) and the vertical solutions (e.g., Next Generation Sequencing Solution for Bio-informatics) that increase the HPE value proposition to our customers.
- As Oil & Gas Vertical Solutions Product Manager, the successful candidate will:
o Be responsible for the vertical market analytics
o Be responsible for creating the go to market strategies for the vertical solutions
o Develop and maintain a comprehensive vertical solutions roadmap
o Own the revenue target and overall return on investment into each of the solutions
o Develop the solutions collateral and support its proliferation through the outbound marketing team
o Collaborate with platform product managers and other solutions product managers to develop and capitalize on common methods
o Orchestrate day-to-day internal program deliverables across functions and teams ensuring alignment with HPC business strategy and program requirements
o Communicate program progress and issues/blockers to key stakeholders and HPC leaders, and drives issues to resolution escalating when progress is halted and senior leadership attention is needed.
o Owns the solutions from cradle to grave, driving the MRD/PD governance process, developing the sales/solution training collateral, establishes channel partnerships and alignment for the solutions, and tracks resultant revenue capture
Education and Experience Required:
- College degree in Marketing/Business/ Technical
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Demonstrated product management and program management aptitude
- Demonstrated understanding of the High Performance Computing market segment, including key players, customers, partners, and HPE competitors
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of product marketing fundamentals
