The Global Payroll Process Management Team

The Global Payroll Process Management team (GPPM) is in charge of bringing our Payroll processes to world class efficiency, quality, ease of business and compliance. Together with our partners from HR/Benefits, IT and Finance,

we have successfully implemented payroll and time process and system transformations for over 27 countries, making significant progress on our transformation roadmap. In the past several years this team also successfully managed two system separations and is currently managing a third.

Global Payroll Operational Excellence Senior Manager

This position will be responsible for bringing the HPE payroll organization globally to a world-class level in terms of compliance, efficiency and service offerings. He/she will drive continuous improvement in the delivery of world class payroll processing to HPE employees worldwide by working closely with operations management team and key business partners to enable operational efficiencies. This leader will also be expected to provide ongoing development, direction and leadership to his/her team.

The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a deep and broad knowledge of payroll operations and its complexities and dependencies, someone who utilizes a fact-based management style but is willing to make an informed decision without necessarily having all the facts. This is a highly visible position requiring a high energy, "roll-up your sleeves" management style and requires someone who excels in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment, and has the ability to work both vertically and horizontally across the organization.

Key Responsibilities for this Position

Drive continuous improvement and standards

  • Provide thought leadership in developing practical cost-effective solutions to complex problems
  • Provide insight through analytics and drive continuous improvement implementation efforts
  • Partner closely with HR, Benefits, Equity and Sales Compensation
  • Provide global single point of contact to partners for payroll-impacting activities
  • Establish measurable service level agreements with key business partners
  • Lead and support operational maturity assessments as requested

Provide analytics, metrics, data collection

  • Establish global processes for requests for analytics and data collection
  • Review and standardize metrics monitoring while minimizing incremental overhead

Oversee compliance

  • Records management
  • Records archival
  • Maintenance of global security catalog

Provide oversight and guidance to team in Global Platforms implemented at HPE

  • ADP Global View, ADP EeTime, Workday Time and Absence Management
  • Assistance with escalated production issues
  • Identify operation knowledge gaps and work with MOC team to fill
  • Establish standard support model for global payroll and time platforms
  • Create pipeline for providing continuous training and upskilling of key operations team members
  • Review, prioritize and approve requested requests for system enhancements
  • Provide cost-benefit analysis of features available in new releases
  • Identify opportunities for additional standardization and RO

Education and Experience Required

10 years of progressive hands-on payroll operations experience at the global level

5 years of supervisory experience leading professionally skilled resources

5 years of experience working with Payroll processes in complex environments

5 years of experience working within HR, Payroll or Finance related business initiatives including implementation, upgrades, or maintenance of processing environments

First-level university degree highly desired

Knowledge and Skills Required

Authority on payroll operations, compliance and processes

Proven experience in the area of continuous improvement initiatives and measurable results

Knowledge of ADP Global View, ADP EeTime and Workday time-tracking and absence management highly desired

Six Sigma certification a plus

Fluent English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent presentation skills

Expert analytical skills and the ability to synthesize change quickly using advanced subject and process knowledge.

Works effectively in a virtual international environment and able to manage virtual teams

Strong leadership skills with proven ability to motivate, develop and retain talent

Effective ability to assess, prioritize and adjust work efforts to meeting changing business requirements

Ability to influence change and manage upward; good motivational skills.

Ability to identify key resources and star performers.

Ability to generate original ideas and bring about their implementation.
