Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Technology Services isseeking to identify highly motivated individuals for an entry level customer-facing opportunity as a Field Enterprise Technical SupportTechnician for HPE’s clients in the Detroit and Southeast Michigan area.

In this entry level role, you’ll provide onsite support to ourcorporate clients in Detroit and the surrounding area. Based on the clients’needs, the support services you provide will include reactive break/fix andserver, networking, and storage support.

You’ll have opportunity to work on the products we deliver andsupport, while gaining experience as a Field Technical Support Technicianwhich can lead to future careers within HPE.

This position will:

  • be based in the Detroit area. No relocation assistance available.
  • likely have a company car
  • include afternoon/evening shift work and will participate on a rotation basis in after-hours / on call coverage, including weekends and holidays
  • on a regular basis, routinely lift and carry 50 pounds without assistance
  • may require customers’ background checks and fingerprinting for Customer site access badges

Key Responsibilities

This is a full-time position with hours likely to be 3 pm – 12 am(midnight) Monday through Friday, but will participate on a rotation basis in after-hours/ on call coverage.

  • Provide a range of technical post-sales or service delivery support to our clients on standard systems
  • Maintain high level customer satisfaction by clarifying customer needs and ensuring that they are met
  • Handle customer relation problems promptly and appropriately, escalate issues according to established procedures
  • Respond to service, product, technical, and customer relations questions
  • Other duties as assigned

This position:

  • requires residency in the Detroit or Southeast Michigan area. No relocation assistance available
  • is likely to have a company car, so a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required
  • will include afternoon and evening shift work, and will participate on a rotation basis in after-hours / on call coverage, so the ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule are required
  • will, on a regular basis, routinely lift and carry 50 pounds without assistance, so the physical strength, balance, and dexterity to enable that ability are required
  • may require customers’ background checks and fingerprinting for site access badges, so willingness to undergo and ability to pass such checks are required

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree (in a technical field ideal) and,
  • 1 year experience in enterprise field technical support, with strong technical acumen or other relevant working experience


  • High school diploma or vocational degree (technical field strongly preferred), and
  • 2 year’ experience in enterprise field technical support, with strong technical acumen or other relevant working experience

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Basic understanding of technical IT support knowledge, as well as basic project management skills and communication and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build and maintain ongoing relationships with customers, peers and support partners
  • Ability to perform well in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work independently and be self-disciplined
  • Ability to learn and comply with organization and policies
  • Ability to build and maintain ongoing relationships with customers, peers and support partners
  • Ability to perform while under high-pressure situations
