Enterprise Services - Cyber Security Engineer

This engineer will be a technical lead on a high performing team of HPE Security Engineers responsible for the security of the Network and systems connected to the network. Responsibilities will focus on taking requirements for security products, evaluating potential solutions and vendors, select most appropriate product, present to management for approval, implement solution, and turn over to operations with needed documentation. Time spent as an IT engineer is a plus. This engineer should also be able to give security consulting advice when asked, such as content and comments to security policies, standards, processes, and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

Work with technology vendors to properly communicate requirements and use case that would allow Cyber Security to solve existing challenges and develop new cyber security capabilities.

Comprehend the network as deployed from WAN, Data Center, sites, interconnects, and partner connectivity.

Understanding of IP addressing plans and how these can affect

Ability to see coming trends and technology and apply them to current scenarios and cyber security goals.

A deep understanding of various protocols and the security implications of such.

Clearly communicate to other subject matter experts as well as executive management key risks and challenges identified as well as road-map for continuous remediation and mitigation of risk.

Act as an advocate for mentoring and technical career growth in the cyber security organization

  • 5 years of experience in security, including:

o Familiarity with large-scale networks, including “network services” such as DHCP, IPAM, DNS, NTP, etc.

o Firewall Management and Administration

o Physical, Virtual and Cloud Network Security Principles

o Security Architecture

o General security control tools

o Experience in client-side cyber security tools

  • Technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years related experience or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Experience in large IT deployment a plus.
  • Preferred certificates include CISSP, CISM, CIPP
