Enterprise Services - Cyber Security Defense Lead Analyst

HPE Cyber Security is seeking a Security Lead Analyst to join a world-class information security team. The Lead Analysts are responsible for maintaining the daily security operations in HP’s Cyber Defense Center. This includes leading and mentoring a team of Analysts, coordinating incident response efforts and supporting the Operations Manager. Leads are empowered to actively shape the way HP does cyber security operations. They play a key role in refining, implementing and identifying new processes, technologies and solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as supervisor, leading a team of analysts in the daily tasks associated with monitoring, response and support of the Cyber Defense Center
  • Mentor security analysts regarding risk management, information security controls, incident analysis, incident response, ArcSight monitoring and other operational tasks
  • Prioritize the work of shift personnel according to HPE strategic objectives, priorities established by the Operations Manager and the evolving risk
  • Act as lead coordinator during incident response activities, guiding the efforts of Senior Analysts and Analysts within the Defense Center
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to establish and maintain the analyst shift schedule
  • Run and maintain weekly operational reports about key performance indicators
  • Conduct regular meetings with business units and other stakeholders
  • Act as the primary communications conduit to senior leadership in the absence of the Operations Manager
  • Maintain documentation on residual risk, along with assignment of leadership owners and recommended steps for remediation

Required Experience:

  • 4 years’ experience of one of the following:

o Cyber Security Operations (Tier-2 or higher level)

o Incident Response

o Leadership or supervisory role

o Project Management

  • General technical skills, includes TCP/IP knowledge, networking and security product experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, able to train and coach other team members
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences

Desired Experience:

  • 3-4 years of information security related experience, in areas such as: security operations, incident analysis, incident handling, and vulnerability management or testing, system patching, log analysis, intrusion detection, or security device administration.
  • 1 year of leadership experience acting in a supervisory capacity
  • Relevant technical and industry certifications are a plus, e.g. GIAC certifications
