End Point Protection technician

Description

The Endpoint Protection Technician is based in the Security Operations Centre (SOC). The primary function of the role will be to provide day to day management, SME input and act as a technical escalation point for the Endpoint protection suite deployed across the estate (primarily Symantec, however any end point protection tool may be involved). The role holder will provide input into design, implementation and management of endpoint protection solutions, using best practice and solution expertise to ensure maximum value and benefit is gained from client investment.

Responsibilities

Maintain the endpoint protection solutions ensuring upgrades are carried out as required.

Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the solution to maximise security protection.

Remediate issues with end point compliance.

Produce reporting for stakeholders

Troubleshoot incidents and issues

Plan and schedule Changes, Coordinating with different stakeholders, following change control procedures.

Provide subject matter expertise to colleagues and projects outside of SOC.

Participate in knowledge sharing with Security Analysts and writing technical articles for Internal Knowledge Bases.

Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Client Security Teams.

Essential Skills

Extensive experience in implementing, managing and maintaining Symantec End Point protection. Including advising on best proactive and configuration for all elements of the Symantec End Point Protection suite (AV, Scanning, Device Control, HIPS etc.)

Strong experience with multiple operating systems, including Linux, Windows, Android, Mac OS, and iOS;

Strong experience obtaining and reporting on security data from endpoint protection systems

Experience implementing advanced endpoint protection solutions

A motivated, self-managed, individual who can demonstrate above average analytical skills and work professionally with peers and customers even under pressure.

A sound knowledge of IT & Information security best practices.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
