HR MADO Deal Principal

As a member of the Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Global HR MADO (Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures & Outsourcing) organization, reporting into the Global HR MADO lead, the HR MADO Deal Principal role is part of a team of HR professionals responsible for providing world-class expertise and project management for M&A deals.


This role will partner and guide business executives, COE leaders, and senior HR M&A resources though the entire deal lifecycle to achieve to defined business objectives and align with the overall HR delivery model.

This role will actively represent HR and engage with cross functional deal teams during all phases of program ensuring (1) thorough due diligence is conducted and (2) an appropriate HR strategy and transition plan is developed and executed for an effective employee transition with Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

This person will project manage a team of HR M&A specialists and be responsible for participating, driving, and/or leading a virtual team of HR generalists and functional specialists to complete due diligence, develop and communicate employment offers, transition compensation and benefits to HP, and ensure that newly acquired employees are orientated into their new roles and teams as effectively as possible.

This role will also partner with business executives, COE leaders, and senior HR M&A resources to ensure defined processes, playbooks, and knowledge is acquired and maintained for deal management, aligning to business objectives and the overall HR delivery model.


  • Provides expertise and deal team leadership in the HR activities of a Merger, Acquisition or Divestitures.
  • Key part of cross functional program level deal team.
  • Identifies critical HR liabilities during due diligence.
  • In partnership with business HR, develops an HR strategy, including a retention plan, for the acquired workforce.
  • Ensures identification and adherence to any country legal requirements.
  • Ensures global needs/timelines are embedded into the HR integration plan.
  • Leads the design and implementation of all HR regional and country delivery activities related to the acquisition (due diligence, offer event, transition to HP incl. employee support).
  • Educates and trains the extended team on HR MADO processes, roles and tools.
  • Works with extended team to ensure that the HR charter is delivered against consistently across the globe.
  • Ensures that global policies, processes and tools are implemented consistently.
  • Established strong partnership with acquired HR exec and team to include in the HR planning and execution.
  • Is an active leader on the overall deal team and represents HR and HR issues to the overall deal.


  • At least 4 years experience in Mergers & Acquisitions.
  • 8 - 10 years experience as a human resources professional (ideally with a generalist & functional background).
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of managing and driving global, multi-country programs.
  • A degree or equivalent diploma in Human Resources, or a related field of study.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities of collaboration across boundaries and working in highly matrixed and ambiguous situations.
  • Creative mindset, able to think outside the box.
