Datacenter Technologist

DC- Operational Support Service (OSS) is a building block of Datacenter Care and provides infrastructure monitoring and system administrative tasks for Enterprise customers. The key deliverables are provided remotely from IT Operation Centers (ITOC) located in our GSD Customer Solution Centers.

The primary role of the Technologist is to evaluate NSI/NPIs and ensure readiness. Evaluate ITOM market and capability and recommend continuous roadmap improvements. Advise on complex deal requests. Provide expertise on ITOM and expansion.

Key Responsibilities

The Technologist understands the client?s business and technology strategies, aligns current and future company solutions to those strategies, and advocates client needs/interests within company portfolio planning activities. The Technologist is well-known for having strong business and IT strategy and planning skills, combined with the ability to influence C-level client executives, and develop long lasting relationships as a trusted technical advisor.

The Technologist is a senior individual that will engage our most strategic customers in executive discussions through a variety of initiatives like Hybrid IT Transformation program; understand customer requirements ? business and/or technical, help translate the requirements into reference architectures, help customers define their journeys to the cloud and hybrid IT, and align HPE solutions to discrete customer use cases. The Technologist will possess a unique combination of business insight and consultative technical, skills; as well as C-level executive presence. Additionally, this role will use expertise to seek out new opportunities for customer value by expanding and enhancing existing opportunities to build the pipeline and drive pursuit in HPE?s Industry and Technology solutions.

Job specifics/responsibilities:

  • Promotes and drives innovation and thought leadership for an account or client
  • Defines the technology strategy and plan; leads the technical dimension of Account Growth Plan
  • Conceives and creates new technology programs to support on-going business and future business growth for an account
  • Creates the annual technology roadmap for the account to drive the client innovation program
  • Actively assists in the development of the DC-OSS community. Shares knowledge and technical expertise through
  • Translate business needs into a functional reference architecture
  • Collaborate with sales leaders and account team in account planning and drive / deploy the solution architecture in the account
  • Collaborate with Pre-sales and services to design and deploy proof of concepts to support use cases through the journey
  • Contribute to enduring executive relationships that establish HPE's consultative professionalism and promote its total solution capabilities
  • Maintains expertise on IT at all levels ? business needs served, new applications, maintenance, typical budgets of the CIO's, typical objectives, measures, metrics.
  • Maintains broad market and competitor knowledge to ensure credibility with Customer Executives
  • Provide customer needs input to product management on an on-going basis
  • Leads innovation in the account (s) and detects new patterns, technologies and trends, feeding back the organization on customer insights

Education (degree) and professional experience required:

  • Typically 10+ years? experience working in Technology and Solution creation and selling with global experience
  • 15+ years professional experience
  • University or Bachelor's degree; Advanced University degree or MBA preferred
  • Recognized Industry technology leader; with strong combination of consultative, technology and business acumen
  • Project management skills required
  • Expert knowledge of emerging industry trends

  • Subject matter expert in cloud and associated architectures/technologies
  • Preferred strong understanding/knowledge of HPE portfolio including partner solutions
  • Knowledge of competitive portfolio solutions
  • Ability to work with & navigate across business groups in large technology vendors
  • Ability to leverage other teams to support objectives
  • Uses expertise in specialty, consultative solution selling and business development skills to align the client's business needs with complex solutions
  • Strategic planning on a business development level; can build an effective business case reflecting the value of an appropriate strategy
  • Demonstrates the ability to leverage HPE's portfolio of products and services to change the playing field against our competition
  • Understands the leverage of services as part of strategic portfolio of products. Promotes services as part of all strategic opportunities
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, associated solutions, and key partner/ISV solutions
  • Prior experience in customer facing responsibilities in consulting or presales function
  • Viewed as expert in given field by customers and/or industry analysts
