Communications & PR Officer - Banking

The Communications and PR Officer is based out of our Rhodes office in Sydney as well as on client site, and has responsibility for the planned and sustained effort to establish goodwill and mutual understanding between Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and our Banking customer.

Through the use of effective communications via written publications or face to face meetings and events, the successful candidate will build and maintain a positive and effective partnership. An additional part of the role involves several important aspects of internal affairs such as improving team work within the account by driving a culture of responsibility and accountability and driving Account identity amongst leveraged resources to ensure people feel a part of the Account, understanding the impact they have, and why it matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Align messaging within the Account ensuring internal and external stakeholders receive a consistent message which drives positive, agreed outcomes whilst establishing an effective platform for future business development and reinforcing the correct perceptions amongst stakeholders
  • Planning, developing and implementing communication & PR strategies
  • Liaising with, clients, vendors, colleagues and key spokespeople
  • Liaising with and answering enquiries from the client, vendors and internal stakeholders, often via face to face interactions, telephone and email
  • Researching, writing and distributing communication releases to a targeted audience
  • Collating and analyzing client and vendor correspondence
  • Writing and editing in-house newsletters, case studies, speeches and articles
  • Preparing and supervising the production of publicity material, direct mail correspondence, recordings, photographs, films and multimedia programs
  • Devising and coordinating photo opportunities
  • Developing and maintaining the Account Calendar of Activities
  • Developing and distributing regular performance reports that help demonstrate the value of the HP and client relationship
  • Managing the employee recognition process
  • Supporting initiatives to improve the Net Promoter Score and client relationships
  • Organising events including conferences, off-site & on-site meetings, exhibitions, open days and office tours
  • Maintaining and updating information on the organisation’s website
  • Commissioning market research
  • Managing the PR aspect of a potential crisis situation
  • 3 years’ experience in a communications role, preferably in an IT related organization
  • Corporate communications, both internal and external
  • Electronic communications including Emails, SharePoint, Social Media and World Wide Web
  • Media coordination
  • Editing and publishing
  • Advertising and marketing
  • Communication research and evaluation
  • Natural enthusiasm and passion for communication
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • A sound understanding of Emotional Intelligence
  • Communications or Business degree preferable
  • Time management & flexibility
  • Confidence in dealing with senior management
  • An ability to work well within tight timeframes
  • A high-level understanding of the Banking Industry
