Responsibilities:

Researches, designs, develops, configures, integrates, tests and maintains existing and new COGNOS V 10.2.1 reports including but not limited to creating and maintaining dashboards, training business users, Creation Ad-hoc reports etc. Through integration of technical and business requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis of business requirements, coding of modifications or new program, creation of documentation, testing and maintenance of applications. Works within the Information Technology function, obtaining resources and working in support of objectives and strategies. Typical customers are HPE end users and various functional areas such as Supply Chain, Research and Development, Marketing, Finance, a business, or the company. Master: Communication skills and COGNOS Reporting through business users training on Business Views. Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Successfully operates in the most complex disciplines, in which the company must operate to be successful. Provides highly innovated solutions. Develops strategy and leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects the affect the organizations long-term goals and objectives. May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams.

This candidate will need strong analytical and architectural skills with an emphasis on generating report solutions to business problems. Their primary responsibility will include design, develop, implement and maintain Business Intelligence reports, dashboards, and applications using Cognos version 10 Business Intelligence tools.

Top Requirements:

At least 5 years’ experience in IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Platform (version 10 or later)

Expert with SQL and creating reports/dashboards against relational and multi-dimensional data sources.

Performance tuning experience related to reporting queries and dashboards required

Programming/scripting experience, requires strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving abilities.

Excellent communications skills, ability to lead all-day client Cognos training sessions.

In addition:

Proficient use of SQL and SQL scripts.

Proficient creating and enhancing data mart and data warehouse solutions

Strong Framework Manager modeling experience

Strong Report Studio experience (with data drill-down and slice and dice options)

Strong Cube/Analytical Data Model design and Data Profile Experience

Strong understanding and experience working with Cognos Business Intelligence technical stack

Data Warehousing concepts

Experience creating custom reports, custom reporting tables using SQL (such as fact and dimension tables).

OLAP (Cube Modeling) and DMR (Dimensionally Modeled Relational Data) Cognos 10

Knowledge of Cognos Administration / Security

Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) tools

Defines and captures metadata and rules associated with ETL processes

Specific knowledge of software deployment requirements for Business Intelligence

Advanced knowledge of data analysis, profiling and conceptual modeling and data quality.

Vertica experience and working with file extracts a plus.

This position requires to be on-site, full-time in Reno, Nevada, no remote allowed.
