Cloud Engineer (Secret Clearance)
HPE is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified individuals for future opportunities as a Cloud Engineer.
In anticipation of these opportunities becoming available, completing a profile will allow us to evaluate your qualifications and interests and will allow us to stay connected.
Lead and participate with the implementation, support and maintenance, and application migration of the Cloud System for DoD customers. This is a high profile project that requires a high degree of leading edge technical capabilities and communication skills. Establish system information requirements using analysis of the information engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale cloud information systems. Design architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces for commercial cloud solutions, especially Microsoft Azure. Ensure these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures, the OSI and ISO reference models, and profiles of standards – such as IEEE OSE reference model – as they apply to the implementation and specification of information management solution of the application platform, across the API, and the external environment/software application for cloud architectures.
Ensure that the common operating environment is compliant with the Agency enterprise architecture and applicable reference models. Evaluate analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develop appropriate corrective action. Provide daily supervision and direction to staff.
Experience with the following technologies:
HPES Cloud Broker— OpenStack Cloud application – installation and configuration;
HP Software products that form the basis for the HP Cloud solution – Cloud System Automation, Server Automation, Operation Orchestration – installation, integration and usage;
Migrating traditional workloads to Cloud environments; and
Systems Engineering technologies to include Linux, Solaris and Windows running in virtualized environments
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering related field
10 years of relevant IT experience
Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Cloud Offerings, especially Azure Solutions,
Expert professional knowledge and experience of information systems security policies and practices, computer science, state-of-the-art security tools and applications, and a thorough knowledge of IT.
Knowledge of commercial and DoD cloud offerings
Knowledge and experience with cloud security/FedRAMP
