Cloud Engineer Early Career

These solutions allow internal customers,partners and end-users to optimize, manage, and protect their storageinfrastructure. Cloud Engineering appliesMidrange – Server Migration Engineer subject matter knowledge to solve complexbusiness issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequentlycontributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis ofsituations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Provides expertise to functional projectteams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Provides direction and guidance to processimprovements and establishing policies. Mayrepresent the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgmentwithin broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method foraccomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Responsibilities

Develop into a Subject Matter Expert responsible forthe overall delivery of one or more engineering work products

Responsible for client/account interactions asrequired

Responsible to make sure that the project deliverablesare completed accurately and on time

Responsible for escalating the issues, problems,risks, and constraints to the appropriate parties for clarification andresolution

Responsible for communication with the Lead Engineerand account/client

Responsible for the engineering of end to endsolutions as required

And for ensuring timely/accurate implementation

Responsible for keeping abreast of new/emergingtechnologies

Secondary function is to provide technical vision forHP Enterprise Services – ITO, e.g. Product & Market Analysis, Labdemonstrations, etc.

Evaluate current state, determine future state anddesign/document the architecture and integration points for eachsystem/technology incorporated into the future-state solution in-line with HPEnterprise Services ITO methodology and in-compliance with HPE business andquality management processes and procedures

Collaborate with the project manager to developdetailed project plans and work breakdown structures for projects

Oversee and provide governance to TechnicalEngineering team(s) during the technical execution of the project

Validate engineering designs, data quality, processflows to implement, assist with test planning

Assess business impact of specifictechnologies/strategies and provide feedback for process improvements

Capture and share architectural IP at the project andprogram level for reuse where applicable

Identify potential improvements in HP EnterpriseServices, ITO service offerings and processes and provide feedback to the appropriate teams/leaders

Promote HPE products, services, and HP EnterpriseServices portfolio offerings within solutions

Provide value and leadership to account teams inachieving service excellence

Promote a culture of service delivery excellence

Qualifications

Educationand Experience

Bachelor/Master’s degreein Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent, and a minimum of 0-3years’ experience.

Knowledgeand Skills

  • Excellent analytical andproblem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicationskills.
  • Experience in two or more ofthe following areas:
  • Experience developing ina Linux Environment is desirable.
  • RedHat and SUSE Linux,Networking, Storage, or DB Administration skills.
  • Familiar with Linux or Windowstroubleshooting
  • Scripting experience
  • Understands Linux migration toolslike PlateSpin or DoubleTake.
  • Additional Education desired:
  • Internet protocols such as SSH,Secure FTP, http, etc
  • SAN and NAS technologies
