ES Applications Services helps customers become an effective IT-enabled business by engaging the right people, processes and technologies. We provide strategy, transformation, implementation and management of custom, industry, packaged, and enterprise applications. Acting to Advise, Transform and Manage, we offer services embracing all of the leading Enterprise Applications solutions and assisting clients where they most need help. We offer services embracing IT and applications transformation, modernization, development, testing and management.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Adabas and its DBA concepts. And good experience in Adabas utilities (like Back up, restore, recovery etc) and Maintenance.
- Design and execute Managed Database modifications:
o maintain logical and physical Managed Database design documentation;
o optimize Managed Database designs based on volume, sizing and usage requirements;
o make design documentation available to UMG and end users; and
- Create and/or refresh, as necessary, development, test or validation databases from production data and after refreshes are complete, execute scripts to validate databases are running properly
- Execute database creation, configuration, upgrades, patches and refresh, including:
o configure the Managed Database environment products;
o create “superuser” Managed Database administration accounts;
o configure Managed Database system disk to optimize database performance;
o confirm that Managed Database systems have been created and are functioning correctly from an operational perspective;
o produce documentation for database setup procedures;
- Maintain consistent database parameters and system settings across all like database instances, including the following:
o maintain and manage the Managed Database files;
o maintain Managed Database system disk for optimal performance;
o manage space for Managed Database and related file systems;
o maintain system-level database software requiring superuser access;
o create and manage required database links;
o perform database software tuning to maintain daily Service operations;
o start and stop the Managed Database;
o maintain basic standard utility scripts and procedures;
- Open, track, and Manage to Resolution all database Incidents and Problems, including:
o review, approve, and perform ad hoc data content changes
o perform system recovery processes;
o perform database recovery; and
o perform database after a recovery.
- Identify operational issues (e.g. locking conflicts, latch contention, rollback requirements, ) for all database instances
- Define and execute database performance and tuning scripts and keep databases running at optimal performance for UMG’s workload, including:
o table space maintenance;
o index maintenance;
o schema maintenance; and
o exports, extractions and deletions, as needed.
o record and measure Managed Database performance against defined database performance indicators;
