As an Accountant, you will be a key member of EMEA Statutory Team, supporting local country Controllership organization with analysis and data needed in the preparation of set of financial statements, local tax calculation, legal and statutory reporting for financial, tax and governmental institution.

Accounting and statutory accounts

  • Final responsibility for the preparation of the annual set of financial statements and applicable notes in accordance with the local GAAP, including balance sheet, income statement, equity statement, cash flow statement and notes
  • Conduct and supervise on-going statutory accounting reviews and booking of adjustments and reclassifications needed to comply with local accounting and tax laws
  • Lead the reconciliation between the management USGAAP accounting and the statutory GAAP accounting and quarterly statutory financial statements reviews
  • Monitor standard activities to ensure balance sheet risk areas are managed – attend & contribute to quarterly balance sheet reviews
  • Work closely with the rest of the country accounting and finance team, the Statutory CoE based team and the auditors to ensure that statutory requirements are met
  • Provide MEC support to the GFS teams
  • Deal with adhoc accounting and country queries as when they occur
  • Ensure CoEs are accounting for transactions correctly – assisting in fixing problems when this does not happen smoothly
  • Resolve issues between Finance and our partners on an ad hoc basis
  • Lead ad hoc activities as they arise, for example Internal Audit
  • Prepare, approve and account for locally produced JVs and account reconciliations
  • Work with the Treasury team, and be responsible for the locally prepared bank payments, control of the local banks’ balances vs cash pool, bank guarantees, etc.
  • BSR preparation and presentation to EMEA
  • FTP and ROVAC forecast review
  • ES template preparation
  • Controllership PO’s processing
  • AMEX administrative support
  • Records Analyst role

Taxation

  • Prepare required information with tax teams and the designated consultants to complete tax returns on a monthly and yearly basis
  • Prepare monthly/ quarterly/ yearly tax forecast
  • Maintain a close control over the VAT related accounts and reporting/compliance requirements
  • Prepare required information and assist in the monthly tax compliance procedures

Education and Experience

Essential:

  • First level university degree with a focus in business or economics, degree or accounting certification – possessed or in the course of qualification (ex. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), ACCA or equivalent) will be an advantage
  • Preferable 4-6 years of experience – as external auditor in one of audit firms, financial analyst position
  • Statutory accounting knowledge with experience in the preparation of annual financial statements and notes
  • Good level orally and written in English and Italian
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Ability to work cross border with on shore based staff as well as centers of excellence in Poland, India and Malaysia
  • Ability to solve problems and accounting issues
  • Business application skills (e.g. SAP, BW, Microsoft Excel)
  • Understanding of key financial processes

Desirable:

  • Influencing and negotiating skills (e.g. auditors, business units, senior management)
