Hearts & Science hiring a Supervisor, Content Strategy to join our Marketing team. The ideal candidate has a passion for storytelling, crafting narratives, and developing original content and thought leadership. This is a new role with the scope of creating, developing, and managing how we approach content at Hearts & Science. Ultimately, the job of the Supervisor, Content Strategy is to think and act like a publisher/journalist/copywriter.
Applicants should have experience developing editorial strategy and thought leadership as well as creating compelling content. Applicants must have a deep understanding of social media and emerging platforms, and bring a distinct editorial sensibility that helps us tell the right stories to our audiences.
This role reports into the Director of Marketing, and partners with the Creative Supervisor to complement visual narratives (i.e. Infographics, Presentations, Websites, etc)
- Develop a content strategy that distinguishes Hearts & Science as a thought leader, while supporting and extending marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term.
- Create a functional content calendar across corporate and b2b priorities
- Leverage market and competitive data to develop content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support a point of view and inform, influence, and educate customers
- Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including social media, websites, blogs, email, and video
- Be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style.
- Develop standards, systems and best practices for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing.
- Establish a workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content.
Requirements Experience driving editorial strategy and content creation Proven editorial skills. Training as a journalist. Training in how to tell a story using words, images, or audio, and an understanding of how to create content that draws an audience. Skill at both long-form content creation and real-time content creation and distribution strategies and tactics. The ability to think like an educator, intuitively understanding what the audience needs to know and how they want to consume it. A passion for new technology tools and platforms. Social DNA a must. Clear articulation of the business goal behind the creation of a piece (or series) of content. Fluency in analytics tools (Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics, Chartbeat), social media marketing applications (HootSuite, Tweetdeck, etc.) and leading social media monitoring platforms (Radian6, etc.).Benefits
