Studio Designer/Developer, Hearst Magazines Digital Media/Ad Studio

The HDM Ad Studio is looking for a Senior Designer who is just as comfortable in a code editor as Photoshop. This person thrives on using the latest technology to create beautiful and engaging ads. They love to collaborate with Creative Directors, Producers, Copywriters, and other Designers, and Developers to turn raw assets and creative briefs into experiences that resonate. Designing responsive ads that are uniquely integrated into our platform of iconic brands requires craft and precision so a keen eye and a dedication to excellence is required! Job Responsibilities

  • Conceives and executes digital advertising consistent with strategy
  • Convert client assets into production ready digital ad units
  • Work with Creative Director and Producer to deliver ad units on time and to creative and technical standards
  • Apply user centric design principles to the creation of engaging digital advertising
  • Manage multiple design/development projects with keen attention to detail
  • Ad product development and continual enhancement of our platforms and templates
  • Bestie with QA to ensure designs are optimized and fully functional across supported devices
  • Maintain code libraries and mentor other designers on their use

Desired Skills

  • 6+ years in web design, graphic design, digital development, advertising, or relevant job history
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects a plus
  • Deep knowledge of JavaScript and CSS animation techniques
  • Bachelors degree in design or related discipline preferred
  • Experience with Celtra, DoubleClick, and other Rich Media platforms a plus
  • Portfolio of engaging work that showcases your ability to apply technology to create compelling design solutions
  • Attention to detail and consistency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem solving skills and detail oriented
