Sr Inventory Analyst, Hearst Magazines Digital Media/Inventory Management

Hearst Digital Media is looking for a Senior Inventory Analyst to join their team in New York. Candidate should have experience in the Digital Media field and be extremely organized, a self-starter, a fast learner, and very motivated to go above and beyond what is expected.

The Senior Inventory Analyst will be accountable for compiling, analyzing and reporting on digital pricing and inventory trends to support key decisions about the company’s sales programs. Responsibilities span the sales, operations and yield management departments of Hearst Digital Media.


  • Forecast and manage inventory across Hearst Digital properties using Yieldex • Strong analytical and quantitative skill with the ability to interpret data analysis and modeling results into actionable recommendations • Perform historical analyses to advise on pricing strategy for business decisions, new products, and large-scale programs • Report on sales trends, identify revenue drivers, and communicate complex analyses to management • Manage current product catalog, new product creation, and booking process in FatTail, HDM’s Order Management System. Implement processes to streamline the approval process • Analyze rates and plans to ensure all deals are compliant with business rules and rates; create models to assist in evaluating profitability of direct ad revenue business • Have a full understanding of rates, products, inventory, HDM media plan packages, and how they all tie into the financials


  • 3+ years of digital media experience, publisher side preferred • BA/BS College degree or higher • Experience with Yieldex preferred • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced environment while managing multiple projects and tight deadlines • Excellent oral and written communication skills
