Motion Graphics Designer, Hearst Magazines Digital Media/ Cosmopolitan Snapchat

MOTION GRAPHICs DESIGNER, COSMOPOLITAN SNAPCHAT DISCOVER is looking for a lightening fast Graphic Designer to help enrich the visual identity of its channel on Snapchat Discover. This position will report to the Managing Editor of Snapchat Discover, and will work closely with a team of designers and editors to create short-form visual animated graphics that further the storytelling of's content and elevate the brand aesthetic. The designer will be responsible for working within the site's branding guidelines to ensure all content is consistent, but they will also be expected to bring platform appropriate creativity and personality to each edition. Candidates should have a portfolio that showcases their talents as a typographer, animator, and includes a strong understanding of social media design best practices.


- Create short-form motion graphics, animations, and GIFs

- Concept, design, and/or illustrate creative elements for topsnaps on a daily basis

- Work on projects from concept to production, making sure we meet brand standards and timelines

- Be on call to design for special weekend events (i.e. major award shows)

- Setting type


- Motion graphics experience

- Excellent design and layout skills

- Excellent typography and type design

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Familiarity with Internet humor, memes, pop culture, social trends

- Excellent at producing shareable, digital-friendly web and mobile content

- Proficiency in Adobe CS, specifically After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop

- Excellent at producing shareable, digital-friendly content, taking trends and audience response into consideration

- Passion for social media

- 1-2 years of experience in motion/graphic designer
