Business Manager

As the Business Manager for Hearst Autos:


  • Consolidate all department costs detail into high level P&L
  • Understand all revenue streams and expenses
  • Forecast revenue through regular interaction with sales team, and by leveraging systems data (DFP, Sales Order Management tool, etc.)
  • Assist accounting team in the monthly accrual process
  • Assist with month end close, analysis and monthly write-up
  • Prepare monthly financial reports to department heads
  • Approve T&E reports, manage T&E budgets, and ensure all expenses are in line with company guidelines through regular communication with department heads
  • Approve vendor invoices for business unit
  • Review Independent Contracts
  • Perform historical analyses to advise on pricing strategy for business decisions, new products, and large-scale programs
  • Report on sales trends, identify revenue drivers, and communicate complex analyses to senior management
  • Analyze costs and revenues to ensure deals are profitable; create models to assist in evaluating profitability of RFPs and sales orders
  • Perform analyses to support business decisions related to products, pricing, and inventory


  • Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skill with the ability to interpret data analysis and modeling results into actionable recommendations
  • Full understanding of rates, products, inventory, sales packages, and how they all tie into the financials
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills


  • 5-7 years’ experience in finance or business management
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • Prior Management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced environment while managing multiple projects and tight deadlines
