Description and Requirements

The Vice President, Enterprise Procurement is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing and procurement strategies across the enterprise. This role will oversee all purchasing functions, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, risk mitigation and ensure cost efficiency, quality, and compliance in all procurement processes. This role will collaborate cross functionally with other business areas in the organization and help execute an effective procurement function to support the strategic goals of the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead a high-performing sourcing and procurement organization, including the recruitment, development, and retention of top talent.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop a comprehensive sourcing and procurement strategy that aligns with the company's overall business goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of sourcing and procurement processes.
  • Oversee the development of RFPs, RFQs, and other sourcing documents and lead the execution of strategic sourcing to develop strategic, cost-effective relationships with suppliers.
    • Lead negotiations with major suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure the best quality, cost, and service performance.
    • Implement supplier performance management processes, including setting performance expectations, conducting regular reviews, and driving continuous improvement.
    • Manage supplier risk by identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
    • Implement robust vendor governance practices, ensuring performance monitoring, cost control, risk mitigation, and strategic supplier relationships.
    • Drive cost savings and value creation through strategic sourcing, spend analysis, contract consolidation, and procurement innovation.
    • Leverage procurement technology platforms (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, Workday) and process automation to improve visibility, efficiency, and control.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with broader supply chain initiatives and operational needs, enhancing overall organizational efficiency.
    • Develop and implement best practices and key performance indicators for procure-to-pay processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce cycle times.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements in all sourcing and procurement activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sourcing and procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to interface at all levels of the organization and with suppliers to solve problems when facing evolving demands.
  • Expertise in procurement technology and analytics tools (e.g., ERP, P2P, contract lifecycle management).
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of sourcing and procurement processes (category management, strategic sourcing, contract management, procure-to-pay, and supplier management).
  • Experience managing the end-to-end procure-to-pay process, including requisitioning, ordering, invoicing, and payment.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare, regulatory requirements, and supplier ecosystems.

    Hiring Range:

    • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $193,100 - $375,870
    • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $193,100 - $375,870
      As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
