Healthfirst's Summer 2023 Internship program is a 10-week paid internship beginning on June X, 2023. Similar to our programs in the past, we will provide an immersive and interactive learning experience that lays a foundation for continued leadership development. Interns will do impactful work, working together with other Interns, Employees, and Business Leaders to solve current business problems and deliver solutions tied to our "Field of the Future" initiatives.

PHSP Facilitated Enrollment team is the face of Healthfirst who serve as a healthcare consultant to educate prospective members to select a health plan that fits their needs while supporting existing members with information that relates to Healthfirst products and services. We work hand in hand with providers and hospitals to deliver quality customer services and care to the community we serve.

We are seeking high energy and data & process-driven individual who has extraordinary attention to detail and analytical problem-solving. As an intern, you'll collaborate with Sales, Product Management as well as Enrollment and Billing to support acquisition and retention growth. You'll focus on turning complex data into insights to assist with business decisions. You'll work directly with the Sales management team to develop and maintain reporting tool and processes, query and analyze data, identify root causes, recommend, and support decision making.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret membership trends and provide ongoing reports and dashboards.
  • Analytics preparation and distribution: analyze enrollment data across various platforms to drive new business, conduct ad hoc analyses combining multiple data sources, and build on existing reporting for new insights
  • Data refinement: identify and resolve data discrepancies to make sure all data provided is accurate
  • Operate with intellectual curiosity and critically assess existing processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Hold oneself accountable for the accuracy, completeness, quality, and relevance of deliverables in order to own responsibility for work product and consider these factors in the end-to-end marketing and communication business process, from data gathering to analysis to formatting and presentation
  • Employ best practices in documentation, coding style and comments to facilitate persistence, reusability, and scalability of your solutions
  • Document and escalate data issues as appropriate
  • Exhibit collaborative attitude, willingness to work with others on data projects that included working team(s) made of cross departmental/interdisciplinary users
  • Additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel
  • Experience with data visualization tool; Tableau
  • Familiarity with common analysis tools such as SQL and Python
  • Passion for solving challenging problems using technology
  • Possess technical curiosity and the desire to learn new things quickly
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain attention to detail
  • Ability to work in teams and build good working relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn other software programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Healthfirst Internship Program Requirements:
  • Undergraduate students must be a junior or senior at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program. Graduate students must be enrolled at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program.
  • Will not require sponsorship for employment
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA from an accredited school

Hiring Range:
  • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $38,200 - $49,920
  • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $33,300 - $47,840
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
