Dir Medicare Sales Operations

The Director, Sales Operations, reporting to the AVP of Sales Effectiveness, will lead Medicare sales operations and transformation programs within the Medicare Sales & Retention Growth Team across all lines of business.

As a channel agnostic operational strategist, success will be based on working with both internal and external channel leaders to provide the tools, training, and support to ensure each channel can effectively increase the quality and quantity of sales. Overall responsibilities are grounded in channel efficiency, channel diversification, operational flexibility, high-performance sales culture, and data-driven decision making.

S/he will lead the implementation of the Sales Operations processes for flawless deployment including planning, communication & execution tracking. The Director will be responsible for embedding critical new business processes and aligning with internal/external stakeholders to improve sales, engagement, growth, and business returns.

  • Accountable for day-to-day leadership of Sales Operations Team, specifically: work prioritization, throughput management, vision shaping of projects, and development of direct reports, periodic organizational design, and performance management conversations
  • Support all sales channels and sales agents through services that enable and drive sales volume including licensure/certification, commissions, incentive design, application processing, and other key supports
  • Review existing sales processes and identify potential opportunities for efficiency improvements (e.g., process re-design)
  • Independently or collaboratively build solutions to operational challenges
  • Standardize sales processes
  • Develop, drive approval and communicate priorities, targets, approach and deliverables
  • Prepare and deliver program communication to relay progress and issues
  • Partner with the enterprise enrollment & billing team to manage commissions and work with the data & analytics team on operational reporting
  • Work closely with sales, operations, finance, legal, compliance, sales, SIU and other administrative functions/partners functions to ensure planning and execution of operational deliverables
  • Ensure sustained buy in with stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in the management of brokers within the commercial and Medicare industry.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrated market knowledge, business acumen, negotiation, financial management and analytical skills.
  • Extensive experience in operational process management working with finance, legal, compliance, sales, SIU and other administrative functions/partners.
  • Strategic and business transformation experience focusing on people, processes, and structures.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff across the organization while maintaining the ability to be decisive and forthright in a consensus-driven professional environment.
  • An astute understanding of the commercial and Medicare broker distribution channel.
  • Experience managing multiple external and internal business processes and systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment that is continually seeking to refine and improve upon processes and systems.
  • Strong strategic leadership skills. The ability to manage the current broker marketplace while simultaneously setting goals and contributing to maintain Healthfirst's competitive edge.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to establish relationships with a broad spectrum of commercial and Medicare agencies and brokers through presentations, meetings, conferences, and associations.

Hiring Range:

  • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $176,525 - $225,080
  • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $121,400 - $185,725

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
