Software Engineering Manager
The Software Engineering Manager manages a team of software development and QA engineers that architect and design innovative, enterprise talent management software solutions. Working in a hands-on role, the manager mentors and leads this team by writing product requirement documents, implementing and tracking development timelines, and participating in the development process.
•Build and manage great software teams by providing leadership, technical guidance, and mentoring to others
•Work in a hands-on leadership capacity with developers, development manager, QA engineers and product managers to ensure the release of highest quality web applications
•Provide accurate technical expertise for the design and development of .NET web applications using the latest Microsoft technologies
•Design and develop a variety of .NET web applications front-to-back
•Take primary role in all phases of software development lifecycle using Agile Scrum methodology with an emphasis on architecture, quality, design and code reviews.
•Lead code review sessions and suggest improvements or alternate strategies
•Analyze conditions and identify strategies that reduce implementation risk and improve system reliability and performance
•Review quality assurance and testing strategies to achieve quality objectives
•Freely contribute to the overall design and development of the product with a focus on scalability, usability, maintainability and performance
•Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation
The Software Engineering Manager is a highly motivated, ambitious, skilled software engineering leader who thrives in a fast-paced, exciting and always changing environment.
•10+ years of experience building hi-traffic, mission critical, Internet applications using N-tiered, object-oriented architecture
•1+ years of proven leadership responsibility
•Experience with Agile SCRUM development process
•Experience in Entity Framework 4.0
•Experience in Visual Studio.NET utilizing version 3.5 or above of the .NET framework
•Excellent experience in architecting all layers of an N-tiered hi-volume web application in a SaaS environment using latest .NET technologies
•Experience and excellent knowledge of software design patterns
•Experience with database design and development (schema design, complex SQL queries) with Microsoft SQL Server
•Experience designing and developing WCF and web services
•Ability to design, compose, review, and coordinate test cases, test plans, and test suites
•Strong understanding of Internet application security, optimization, best practices and Internet protocols
•Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
•Ability to build and sustain trust through relationships with others
•Complete understanding and wide use of technical standards, principles, theories, and concepts in the field
•Ability to communicate product and engineering ideas to team and partners
•Recognized as an expert and strives for excellence with the ability to mentor and coach other engineers to do the same
•Able to lead meetings, clearly communicate technical approach, status, assess risk and mitigate
•Bachelor's/Master's degree preferred in Computer Science or related field
