This 10-week internship will be located in Richardson, TX.

What Are The Responsibilities Of The Team?

This team is accountable for researching and resolving provider inquiries arising from contract operations, system, data entry claims payment, and directory issues. This team is responsible for internal communications including working with Provider Network, Provider Relations, and Government Programs staff on issue resolution. This team is responsible for external communications including educating and updating the provider network community regarding Blue Cross Blue Shield policy updates, system and contractual changes. Assist in the composition and coordination of revised policies and procedures.

What Are Your Responsibilities?

-Responsible for researching and resolving traditional and atypical provider inquiries arising from contract operations, system, data entry claims payment, and directory issues.

-Responsible for communication with Provider Relations staff and other Government Program divisions.

-Document in the internal contract database all completed contracts with special attention on information that is used to create monthly as well as ad-hoc reports on provider network operations accuracy and productivity.

-Monitor a variety of queues including telephonic queue, email queue, and partner company queue.

-Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.

-Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.

-Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.

What Do You Need To Be Successful?

-Knowledge of health care industry, contracts, products, claims processing

-Knowledge of government health care products (TANF/FHP, MMAI)

-Written and verbal communication skills to compose responses to external and internal entities, to negotiate and close contracts, to educate providers, to compose training materials and procedures, to work across departments to resolve provider issues

-Knowledge/proficiency with Access

-Negotiation and training skills/experience

-Previous internship experience preferred

What Are the Requirements You Must Meet?

-Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Project Management, or related business field

-PC proficiency including Microsoft Word and Excel

-Graduation date between December 2018 - June 2019

-A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0

-Availability to work 10 weeks during the summer

-Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States (at this time, we are not offering this program under OPT or CPT or sponsoring work visas for these roles).
