Sr Director Pharmacy Operations

Job Purpose:
This position has a deep understanding of the pharmacy industry and is an effective leader in a large complex organization. The position is responsible for setting the strategy forEnterprise Pharmacy operations across multiple states and product offerings. Manages relationships with and provides oversight of key vendors, including strategic PBM partners. Develops, implements and supports the strategic vision of pharmacy operational functions, establishing the necessary infrastructure, controls and processes to ensure consistent achievement of business objectives. Analyzes current and previous vendor and PBM performance to drive continuous improvement across accuracy, productivity, costs and member service. Formulates and administers relevant pharmacy policies and procedures. Attracts, retains and develops strong, diverse team. Effectively collaborates with vendors, Enterprise Sales Delivery, Enterprise Member Service, Enterprise Information Technology Group, and other Enterprise Pharmacy functions to deliver a seamless and holistic member experience.

Required Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy benefit management, and the broader ecosystem of managed care, including prescription drugs, pharmacy benefits design, utilization review, cost containment strategies, formulary management and emerging technology.
5 years experience working in the PBM Industry; strong knowledge of pharmacy benefit marketplace.
12 years of experience in an operations related field, with 5 or more years of experience in a leadership position
Strong business and financial acumen, with ability to develop and customize programs to meet business needs.
Experience with issue and dispute management, vendor/PBM contract terms and structure, members, clients, and internal cross-functional areas
Experience with tracking and reporting issues, and executing holistic member service strategy to quickly resolve day-to-day issues
Experience with integrated strategic planning, project and portfolio management, and IT processes and systems
Experience with benefit installation process and developing standard benefit offerings
Experience with complex business or healthcare negotiations
Demonstrated ability to work directly with corporate leadership
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex priorities. Flexible, resourceful, able to work in an ambiguous environment.
Analytical strategic thinker, highly articulate communicator and compelling leader able to develop a clear vision and translate it into goals and results.
Knowledge of state and federal laws as applicable to the health insurance industry and PBM industry.
