Senior Manager UX/Interaction Design
Job Purpose: This position is responsible for their role in the Digital User Experience Team (DUET). DUET crafts compelling user experiences across a spectrum of internal and public tools, in partnership with business stakeholders and IT. Passionate about design thinking, human centered design, usability, accessibility, mobile-first and responsive design.
Required Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor degree in Human Computer Interaction (or other job related field) and 4 years of experience in user experience / interaction design OR 6 years of experience in user experience/ interaction design.
•3 years management and/or leadership. Present a deep portfolio of case studies and strategic design work.
•Experience with user experience, HCI, or interaction design.
•Experience delivering design within agile.
•Knowledge of asset management tools (ie JIRA).
•Experience leading others in areas that require: research / analytical skills, financial analyses , project management skills , problem solving skills , multi-tasking / prioritization skills, relationship building skills.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
•Active involvement in the Design community demonstrated by regular engagement in continuing education, committee work or meet-ups.
•(AIGA, Creative Mornings or similar).
•Formal education in interaction design (HCI, Cognitive Science, UX, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or a related degree from an accredited institution) .
•6 years of user experience, HCI, or interaction design experience across a variety of industries and challenges.
•Digital and physical preferred, print is respected.
•Proven ability to lead people.
•Champion empathy for the user in alignment with business drivers.
•Deliver value to the business through well-crafted and timely work.
•Facilitate collaboration of cross-functional team and stakeholders.
•Communicate and facilitate design experiences with stakeholders.
•Define new best practices and share within your team and beyond.
•Foster a culture of open feedback.
•Learn from everyone.
•Mentor and lead interaction design team
