This position is responsible for using SAS programming and analytical capabilities to review business needs, prepare system requirements, develop SAS code, execute testing, research data related questions, and troubleshoot issues in our advanced healthcare model platform. This role is responsible to program and maintain the core logic of our alternative payment models to drive value based care. Reviews and validates data in various sources and locations for accuracy and its potential use in our algorithms. Uses knowledge of the data structures, schema and tools to find, copy, or modify data across various data warehouses and environments. Generates ad hoc reports and regular datasets for end-users from SAS logs, databases, or data warehouses using queries and scripts. Integrates data from multiple sources to produce requested or required data elements. Interacts with user community to understand business needs. Provides technical consulting to users of the platform and advises users on its capabilities and limitations. Responsible for prototyping solutions, preparing test scripts, and conducting tests. Maintains knowledge of software tools, languages, scripts, and shells that effectively support the advanced healthcare model platform. Must have an extensive knowledge of SAS, along with data warehouse concepts and query tools.
Required Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of SAS development and data analysis experience OR 6 years of SAS development and data analysis experience in a healthcare setting to include experience in leading and management of project tasks Experience using statistical concepts with an ability to apply to business model algorithms. Experience working with medical claims, pharmacy, or eligibility data or systems is preferred. Experience in both Agile and Waterfall approaches to software development. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences both in written and verbal form. Experience creating clear and concise project documentation. Knowledge of relational database concepts, and the creation of queries and reports using SQL or reporting tools. Analytical, conceptual and root cause analysis skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously both independently and as part of a team. Interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills. Interprets internal or external business needs and recommends practical approaches to meet them. Takes initiative to solve complex problems; takes an "outside –in" perspective to identify innovative solutions Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations* May lead functional teams or projects; knows how to use the formal and informal structures to get things done.
