Communications Consultant III

BASIC FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for developing and executing a variety of communications to inform and engage multiple internal and external audiences; Serve as a strategic advisor on the effective use of communications to help meet key business objectives for the Government and Consumer Solutions lines of business; Collaborate with key stakeholders, subject matter experts, cross-functional teams and management at all levels of the organization; Bring context and perspective to the internal and external factors impacting these complex, rapidly-evolving business segments; Demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to deal with ambiguity and shifting deadlines with a sense of urgency.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

•Bachelor Degree in Journalism or Communications and 4 years corporate communications experience including copy development, editing and print project management OR 8 years corporate communications experience.

•Strong ability to work under pressure and short time lines; ability to handle multiple projects with shifting deadlines simultaneously.

•Strong knowledge of MS Office Word and PowerPoint software.

•Ability to interact with all levels of an organization with confidence. Adept and comfortable at influencing the decision-making process.

•Willingness to work beyond office hours as needed to meet requirements.

•Demonstrated ability to write and edit an array of communications materials for internal/external audiences.

•Strong organizational, project management and consulting skills.

•Ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential information; adept at handling situations with political appropriateness and sensitivity while influencing positive outcomes.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

•Experience working in health insurance field and knowledge of managed care.

•Consistent employment in communications roles for 1-3 years .
