We work closely with product, SEO, marketing, content, experimentation, and design to develop features and tools that empower our teams to build, deploy, and serve world-class, high-conversion, data-driven pages. As a DevOps Engineer on WarnerMedia-s HBO Max Dotcom team, you will design and build solutions to support the infrastructure and CI/CD processes of our publishing system. Join us as we expand our services across the globe to support an increasing number of visitors and internal users with reliable and performant hosting and deployment environments. You will work closely with the best engineers as an integral part of a custom publishing platform, which reaches millions of users every month. You will own and improve systems that bridge between teams and will underpin the roadmap of the product for years to come. By joining our team, you-ll have a rare opportunity to build noteworthy components of a major new service from the ground up, and your work will help attract millions of customers to the service. The Daily

  • Design, improve, and protect large-scale systems that drive and power HBOMax.com
  • Evaluate multiple technical approaches and drive consensus with peers
  • Use data to solve real world problems and improve customer experience
  • Collaborate and partner with engineers of all levels
  • Work with designers, product managers, and marketers to optimize tooling and performance for HBO Max
  • Handle operational issues and troubleshoot bugs independently
  • Work in an agile environment, working with peers to review code and deploy world-class features

The Essentials
  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure development and support, building scalable services for shipped consumer products or platforms
  • Success in designing and building highly available application/systems at scale
  • Be passionate about software engineering with a strong sense of ownership for the code that you and your team write
  • A strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and operating systems
  • Experience with document storage engines (NoSQL DBs) such as Elasticsearch and MongoDB, as well as SQL DBs such as MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL
  • Passion for infrastructure as code, especially using Terraform
  • Deep experience with AWS, appreciation for Azure and Google Cloud
  • Solid understanding of caching engines such as Redis or Memcached
  • Be a quick learner that can leverage surrounding resources to solve problems
  • Seek self-improvement and adapt to suggestions and feedback
  • Experience with CI/CD systems such as Github Actions, Azure Pipelines, and Jenkins
  • Hold yourself and your team to high standards while maintaining respectful relationships
  • Be passionate about software engineering with a strong sense of ownership for the code that you and your team write
  • Ability to provide periodic on-call support for critical emergent customer-facing issues
  • Full working knowledge of Git version control
  • Experience with security software engineering, especially for distributed applications.
  • A passion for learning, sharing knowledge, mentoring, and working in a team setting with engineers of varying levels of experience
  • Passion for collaboration, and fun is a must!

The Nice to Haves
  • Bachelor-s degree in an engineering or science-related discipline
  • Experience with a variety of back-end persistence, queuing and networking technologies, especially SMS, SQS, and SNS
  • Experience creating automated tests as part of the development lifecycle - passion for test driven development
  • CDN experience such as Akamai or Cloudfront
  • Familiarity with Node.js
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries
  • Solid understanding of how the internet works and operates, particularly in client/server transactions with a keen knowledge of HTTP, DNS, REST, etc.
