HBO 2017 Summer Intern: HCI-UX Designer (WA)

What you’ll do:

You will be an intern working collaboratively with senior designers on product design and feature initiatives from concept to launch for our streaming and interactive experiences. Working closely with a multidisciplinary design, engineering, content, and research team you’ll support progress, uphold standards, and advocate for exceptional customer experiences. In this role, you will assist in the creation of typical design documents such as site maps, user flows, wireframes, visual designs, and redlines, while taking a hands-on approach to implementation and collaboration with software development.

A portfolio demonstrating process, user-centric design thinking, and solutions is required.


  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant design program
  • Interest in and an ability to develop wireframes, site maps, flow diagrams, and prototypes
  • Knowledgeable of UX design principles and methodologies as they relate to software development
  • General understanding of design composition, typography, and color theory
  • Comfortable with design software including Omnigraffle, Sketch, Axure, etc.
  • Ability to easily switch between independent and collaborative work
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and time management skills

This is a paid internship of up to 10 weeks.
