College Advisor, HCZ Forward
- New York, NY
The Center for Higher Education and Career Support (CHECS) provides year-round academic, administrative and emotional support as well as financial and career preparation to graduates of HCZ’s high school and after school programs. Our mission is to make sure participants become college graduates who can be successful in their chosen career paths. The main components of CHECS include student outreach, academic support and guidance, financial aid advisement, college admissions transfer assistance, career exposure, resume writing, internship assistance, and an Alumni affinity group for our college graduates.
We are currently seeking an inaugural Advisor to help shape the HCZ Forward program. This team member will help the CHECS Director grow an innovative blended higher education program to ensure all students can complete college. Students will enroll and complete college entirely online. The Advisor’s work will also include building the program’s key structures, recruiting participants, and directly coaching a cohort of 30 students in college through the program. The ideal candidate will use their critical thinking skills, creativity, and emotional intelligence to increase access to higher education and, more broadly, to economic opportunity. This position reports to the Director of CHECS.
