General Position Summary:

Responsible for coordinating and receiving allin-bound merchandise, fabric, mail and packages.

Primary Functions:

Schedule, unload, stage and stack all incoming merchandise and fabric.

Performdata entry of new receipts.

Insuresthat Quality Assurance receives all incoming merchandise for inspection.

Maintaincurrent and accurate data on all receiving and fabric information.

Coordinate all fabric shipments.

Maintaincontact with vendors and trucking companies to investigate lost shipments andundelivered merchandise.

Provideson-going evaluation and recommendations to the Receiving Supervisor regardingreceiving procedures and the design and use of the receiving area.


  • Move receivedgoods from the receiving area to overstock and picking.
  • Assist in pullingreplenishment and refilling pick trail when needed.
  • Movemiscellaneous goods such as furniture, files, catalogs, and WBW.
  • Straightenreceiving area as well as overstock and pick trail.
  • Pull stock forresets from overstock locations.
  • Assist Inventoryposition in quantity corrections, manual moves, etc.
  • Cycle Count forOverstock bins.

Job Impact:

Joboperates within established parameters.
Position has a great impact on warehouseorder fulfillment accuracy and inventory accuracy. Consequences of error are significant.Position also has great impact on company's assets.

Interpersonal Contacts:

Interactionsoccur among employees of company in delivery of goods,

butprimarily and with great frequency with delivery personnel, UPS

driverand other persons delivering goods.Regular contact

withinventory planners and computer dept.Daily contact with returns.Directs all visitors using receiving entrance.

Qualifications Required:

Great attention to detail, and abilityto be accurate.

Requires standing, moving, twisting,bending to count merchandise, repetitively lifting up to 50 pounds, climbingladders, driving the Raymond.


•Basiccomputer skills.

•Abilityto work independently.


Job Conditions:

Workis done in receiving/loading dock area with cement floors. Job pressure can be high to get receiptscounted in order to minimize backorders.

Overtimemay be required to complete receipts and avoid backorders.

Temperaturevaries from rest of building due to location of outside doors. Interruptionsare frequent. Occasionally may berequired to perform other tasks as requested by lead or manager.
