The Managerin Training (MIT) worksclosely with the Store Manager to ensure that the store operatessmoothly. This person provides support to the Store Manager and is incharge of store operations and decisions in the Managers absence. The MITprovides floor leadership in all areas, specifically, but not limited tocustomer service, merchandising, inventory control and training.

The MIT role is one ofdevelopment and leadership; the goal being that a MIT will promote into theStore Manager role within 6 to 12 months. Ability and willingness to relocate is a requirement.

Essential Functions:

  • Be a Brand Ambassador at all times –be highly engaged and represent ourpassion for our brand, our products and our company.
  • Set standard of excellent customer service on selling floor through trainingand coaching of sales staff.
  • Ensures store presentation is consistent with company standards.
  • Assists the Store Manager to achieve sales goals, profit and loss preventiongoals as identified on store annual budget.
  • Responsible for assisting in recruiting, scheduling, training and performancemanagement feedback to sales staff as directed by Store Manager.
  • Provides effective communication with District manager, Manager and salesstaff.
  • Provides appropriate feedback/follow-up with Store Manager as requested.
  • Supports the Store Manager in the individualized coaching/development andcounseling of all staff members.
  • Provide strong leadership by creating a positive work environment.
  • Maintain and support Hanna Andersson values and policies.
  • Ensures store presentation is consistent with company standards.
  • Participates in the training of Store Managers for existing or new locationsat home store.
  • Takes ownership for own development; creates IDP (Individual Development Plan)and seeks feedback to grow professionally.

SupervisoryResponsibilities:

Position is acting manageron duty in Store Manager’s absence. Provides leadership to sales staff.

Specific Job Skills,Experience & Education:

  • Minimum 2 years in retail environment, with at least 1 year in retailmanagement.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Understanding of inventory processes, merchandising and promotionaltechniques, and customer service standards.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Basic computer experience preferred.
  • Ability and desire to grow professionally into store management role.
  • Refined communication and interpersonal skills.

Essential PhysicalRequirements:

  • Ability to process information/merchandise through computer system and POSregister system.
  • Ability to communicate with associates and guests.
  • Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stockarea, and register area.
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing0-25 pounds.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
  • Ability and willingness to relocate.
