Corporate - Sr. Director Human Resources

The main focus of this role is to maintain and champion Hanna Andersson's rich history and culture, as well as to elevate and develop existing talent and enhance operational capabilities. The Sr Director Human Resources will lead the establishment of, and compliance with, human resources processes for the organization and will be engaged in broad human resources strategy development. This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

You will lead an HR team including benefits, payroll, compliance, human resource business partners and talent acquisition. This person must have an authentic leadership style with a hands-on, action-oriented approach and be equally credible with senior leaders and field associates, as they will be charged with charting the course of effective engagement and people strategies to support the organizational growth agenda.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the overall HR function
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to senior management in driving the business as it relates to our people and organizational effectiveness
  • Manage the day-to-day HR activities, including consulting and advising on policy and procedure, staffing, compensation, employee relations, and development, as well as organizational and change management
  • Build, develop, and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with management and employees across multiple business units to deliver value-added HR services
  • Proactively assess business needs for HR services and develop strategies to meet those needs
  • Address all employee relation issues and other immediate issues to minimize risk
  • Ensure alignment between individual, business unit, and corporate practices and serve as a credible business partner
  • Promote positive employee relations and communication by counselling employees and proactively facilitating conflict resolution between employees; escalate issues as appropriate
  • Coach employees and manager on career development, goal setting, performance improvement, and people management
  • Drive and support the HR team in implementation of HR strategies into operations programs
  • Partner with HR team on talent assessment, organizational design, and learning and development initiatives

Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of prior HR Generalist and/or Organizational Development experience
  • Experience practicing HR in a multi-state/multi-location environment
  • Previous talent management, succession planning and learning and development experience
  • Strong experience and demonstrated skills in handling a variety of employee relations matters
  • HRIS experience; ADP preferred
  • Strong knowledge in employment laws; multi-state experience required
  • Experience with a retail and/or apparel company preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
