About the role

Handy's Product team is responsible for developing and shipping product experiences that deliver on Handy's vision and business objectives, and create value for our users.

As a Product Manager of Growth SEO, you will be a key member of Handy's Product team, responsible for developing and executing against a best-in-class, programmatic SEO product roadmap that advances Handy's mission "to seamlessly deliver every service to every home."

What you'll do

  • Build the business case for the SEO product roadmap, and measure and report on impact
  • Develop and clearly articulate business cases for SEO product investment - tying outcomes to measurable KPIs, including revenue and user acquisition
  • Be responsible for SEO performance, dashboards, and data from other platforms, and use insights to inform our product and content roadmap
  • Define, manage, and evolve our SEO product strategy, roadmap & vision, focusing 80%+ of efforts on programmatic solutions that promote and leverage UGC from the Handy platform
  • Keep up to date on the latest SEO best practices, strategies, technologies and industry changes
  • Utilize industry tools such as Google's Keyword Tool, Screaming Frog & Semrush to develop and execute SEO strategies
  • Perform keyword research and expansion of keyword opportunities from high "search volume keywords" to "long tail" opportunities, including micro-level understanding of search volume for particular keywords in the home services space
  • Pursue "on page" SEO optimization tactics: Site structure and tagging, programmatic generation of landing pages out of UGC, internal linking between pages, and custom content
  • Pursue "off page" SEO optimization tactics: Develop and execute inbound link building tactics and content outreach program
  • Translate SEO strategies into requirements documents (specs), and delineate clear prioritization among features
  • Present and align on roadmap with senior leadership team on an annual and quarterly basis
  • Evangelize the product vision for SEO and motivate team-members critical to the product's success
  • Develop and tell the story of what we're building, why we're building it, how the team will get there, and why we'll win as a result
  • Create a strong team working environment and culture with high morale and productivity
  • Deliver sustainable, production-ready products to spec and on time, and monitor for bugs
  • Break down strategies into meaningful user-facing features and run spec reviews with engineering and design
  • Break down product features into shippable components and scope work with engineering
  • Develop the feature release plan (including what features, in what order, platforms, over what timeline)
  • Drive execution and remove roadblocks by prioritizing and descoping features when necessary, stepping in as an individual contributor for others, and making swift judgement calls when teams are at an impasse
  • Develop and work with QA vendor to execute QA test plans to ensure product is QA'd to standard; Conduct regular site audits to ensure new and existing pages/features conform to SEO standards
  • Review wireframes and design mocks, when necessary, and provide feedback and approval
  • Run weekly initiative meetings, communicating changes in feature requirements and release schedules openly to leadership team, and escalating critical decisions
  • Be an active participant in, and champion of, Handy's culture

What we're looking for
  • 5+ years of professional experience with 3+ years product management experience in SEO
  • BA/BS in an analytical field such as economics, math, computer science
  • Experience using common SEO tools e.g., Google's Keyword Tool, Screaming Frog & Semrush
  • Experience contracting with, and managing, an offshore vendor for content production
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to identify real obstacles and viable solutions
  • Willingness to get hands dirty and do whatever it takes to ensure success
  • Technical experience; you must understand the technical implications of the product decisions you make
  • Familiarity with Excel, databases and SQL
  • A passion for marketplace businesses
  • Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced work environment; hack, test and learn mentality; team player
