Business Development Representative
Handy is changing the way the world buys services by connecting customers with vetted, independent, local service professionals in a fast, convenient and reliable way - at the tap of a button. Started in 2012 by Oisin Hanrahan & Umang Dua while at Harvard Business School, Handy has since scaled to service 28 cities across 3 countries and 5 service categories (cleaning, handyman, electrical, plumbing, storage), and has processed over 3 million transactions. We have raised over $110M in funding from Fidelity, TPG, Revolution Capital, General Catalyst, and Highland Capital. We are a collaborative team of about 100 people across marketing, ops, customer support, product, data, finance and engineering, and our headquarters is located in the Flatiron District.
About the role
As our first Business Development Representative you will play an important part in driving revenue by helping to develop a strong pipeline of qualified partners for the company. If you have the ambition to join a dynamic SaaS business and help the build the sales function from the ground up, this is the role for you. You will proactively identify, contact and cultivate new business opportunities using a combination of calling, emailing and social media tools. And you will be accountable to goals of qualified meetings, opportunities and revenue. Reports to head of Partnerships.
We're a startup, so we're looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, enthusiasm for our mission to transform home services, and of course, the ability to turn on a dime when necessary. Here are some details about what is required:
- 6+ months of lead generation for a high volume SaaS business. Inside Sales experience a plus
- Excellent communication skills including writing, speaking, listening and cold-calling
- Great understanding of social media and communications tools including Linked In, Twitter, Facebook
