Six Month Brand Marketing Intern, James Patterson Books

This is a unique internship/entry-level position at a top-five publishing house on the support team for one of the best-selling authors and biggest pro-reading advocates in the world. The position is part-time (28 hours per week), offers an hourly wage, and the start date is immediate. Six month (minimum) commitment. Writing sample required.

For the right candidate, this is a tremendous opportunity to gain publishing and entertainment industry experience. More than 95% of past interns have immediately gone on to full-time paid positions in the publishing or wider entertainment industries.

Candidate should possess excellent writing skills and be highly organized, detail oriented, articulate, culture-savvy, creative, and personable. A passion for books and reading is a must, as is an interest in all creative communications. Relevant prior work experience is preferred, but above all the candidate should be confident and possess a natural problem-solving intelligence.

Day-to-day the candidate would assist with all aspects of author support including advertising, trade marketing, social media, and publicity. Tasks include drafting online content and assisting with social media outreach, tracking data and maintaining spreadsheets, and serving as a liaison between the publisher and outside entertainment industry contacts. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. Knowledge and interest in graphic design and web production tools is a plus.
