Working as an Inventory Control Manager

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for directing the daily activities of inventory control, cycle counting, inventory related claims management and related accounts administration (application of appropriate systems and tools esp. the warehouse management system).

The Inventory Control Manager controls the availability of proper item master data, storage optimization and is responsible to manage stock count activities according to customer requirements as well as initiation of all corrective actions which are necessary to avoid inventory discrepancies or product damages.

  • Receiving of goods
  • Put-away
  • Replenishment and picking
  • Assembling, sorting and packing
  • Disptaching products
  • Ensure current and accurate inventory control and stock reconciliation
  • Training of Team Leader / Shift Leader as to how to resolve discovered inventory issues during operations
  • Maintaining and further development of processes working Instructions in regard to inventory control
  • Supervise the inventory quality and accuracy assurance programs, including measurement of inventory KPI's in daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • Root cause analysis of discovered inventory discrepancies
  • You guide and review proposed preventive measures
  • You analyse and advise to exceed customer metrics (cost, quality, and responsiveness)
  • Develop and maintain process for inventory claims, returns and damaged goods handling and identify measures to reduce damages caused by warehouse staff
  • Implement and maintain process to constantly monitor Storage Area (includes all full pallet movements) and Picking and Storage Optimization level and take measures to constantly improve situation
  • You provide regular updates and presentations to our customer
  • To receive and manage customer enquiries ensuring they are referred or resolved as required.
  • Discuss and communicate customer feedback with Shift Leader as required.
  • Plan labor needs to fulfill all defined inventory management functions (esp. cycle counting) together with the Operational manager

What you need to succeed at GXO
  • Communication skills: high visibility to customer, communication, and presentation skills on a professional level
  • Fluency in English, Dutch is an added bonus
  • Business skills: Experienced with analyzing data from ERP/WMS systems
  • Education: HBO
  • Experience: 8 - 10 years' work experience of which several years in customer visible positions
