Software Engineer in Test

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Design and develop test plans and test cases focusing on specific user stories
  • Participate actively in functional, system, automation and regression testing activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
  • Work closely with the development team to analyze, debug and resolve the bugs
  • Participate in test case reviews and provide feedback
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers to solve complex problems and deliver end-to-end quality in our products
  • Organize your own tasks and take responsibility for progress and completion
  • Execute test cases across supported browsers
  • Analyze and report on functional and automated test results to product teams
  • Implement test cases/suites leveraging tools like TestNG and Selenium

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in working in a similar role
  • Familiarity with testing SaaS/cloud web apps and understanding of how browsers and HTML5 web apps work
  • Hands-on experience in writing SQL for relational databases like PostgreSQL
  • Hands-on experience in programming in Python, Java, or JavaScript
  • Understanding of REST based API testing and JSON
  • Experience testing a large complex software system that has varied customer deployments
  • Proven track record to work well with others in a fast paced, iterative product definition and development environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies in a dynamic environment
  • Familiarity in using test and defect tracking tools such as TestRail and JIRA
