Senior UX Designer – Digital, Dublin, Ireland

Guidewire is looking for someone like you to join a team working on innovative, Web-based applications.  We’re looking for a customer-obsessed and enthusiastic user experience designer to support taking our successful enterprise applications into the cloud. We're looking for someone who can translate our vision into concepts and then turn those into designs that illustrate simplicity, given the complexity of our systems. You will work on all user-facing elements of the application, including controls, navigation, icons, and more. You will provide design alternatives, wireframes, mockups, and design specifications.

The right person will have an extensive online professional portfolio including Web sites and browser-based and mobile applications. If you think you are a fit, submit your resume today and knock our socks off.

Please make sure to send a link to your portfolio or your work when submitting your application.

Responsibilities

As a Senior UX Designer, you will:

  • Generate multiple design concepts and work with the other designers and Product Managers to arrive at the best solution.
  • Ensure consistency and help refine our pattern library.
  • Collaborate with development, product management, documentation/training, and other UX designers, including with headquarters staff in California.
  • Bring our applications to life using exciting visual elements as appropriate for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Participate in User Testing and research as appropriate to understand user needs, including prototype development and usability testing.
  • Think of the people who use our products, not just the pixels that you place on screen. You will strive to consider the typical personas who use the products and understand their workflow to create elegant intuitive user journeys.

We care most about your artistic and technical talent, as well as your critical thinking skills.  In addition, prior experience with a majority of the following is desired.

  • Experience with Sketch.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of Axure for wireframing and prototyping is a big plus.
  • A user-centric approach to design, and familiarity with UX techniques.
  • Deep experience in interaction and visual design for web applications.
  • Experience delivering mobile-first and responsive web designs.
  • The ability to multi-task across multiple projects, managing your own time, deadlines, team interactions, and deliverable.
  • Experience with HTML and CSS, although UI coding is not part of this job.
  • Broad thinking. We want you to come up with design alternatives that will make us think outside the box.
  • Experience with Agile development is a plus.
  • A thorough knowledge of competitive and cutting-edge UIs on the web today, to assure that our products have an up-to-date style.
  • Occasional travel within Europe and to the U.S.; perhaps more in the future.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company that is experiencing explosive growth. We are a NYSE listed software company with over 200 successful implementations and 100+ Property/Casualty (general) insurance customers. We are very selective when asking new people to join our group. We can promise a friendly collegial environment that will challenge all of your acquired skills and abilities.
